Rockford Diocese Observer Launches Online Publication with Synergy Web Platform
The Observer, the weekly newspaper of the Catholic Diocese of Rockford, launched its new Web site deploying the SynNet Synergy Web Platform today. The Observer had been maintaining its site using Microsoft FrontPage but converted to the Synergy Web Platform for its easy-to-use content management system, calendar systems, news articles module and advertising modules.
"There are so many tools and modules that we can use to present our newspaper online," said Owen Phelps, "our staff is excited about the real possibilities of creating an online edition with all of the features of the big newspapers."
The Synergy Web Platform permits the assignment of online columns and blogs to various staff and contributors, yet gives control to editorial staff before the information is live on the site.
The Observer is recommending to the Rockford Diocese that it convert its site over as well this summer. |
